Luna's on Freel Pass - Lake Tahoe, CAFreel Pass on the Tahoe Rim Trail - I wore my new Luna Leadville Pacer’s 3 days out of the box on a 40 mile overnight hike with great success.

Crossing over snow was my only issue. Small patches didn’t bother me, but longer stretches allowed snow to accumulate between my toes like crushed ice and it was really painful.

Overall, the Pacer’s are my favorite trail shoe ever. Sand and pebbles definitely come, but they also go. If something is seriously lodged, I do a one-footed hop and flick the heel, releasing any debris. Stream crossings are awesome, in fact I look forward to them. Rocky terrain is a blast. Fast uphills and downhills are killer. And simply walking naturally truly does enhance my connection with the earth. Oh, and it’s also nice not needing a separate pair of shoes for camp.

I’ll definitely be wearing them on all future adventures in my backyard - the Tahoe basin.

First half marathon in my new Luna Monos at the Northface Endurance trail run along the Potomac. The thicker sole is so much nicer on the trails, especially with large stones, roots, and streams to cross. Fun to watch other people trying to tip-toe on the rocks while I just splashed in the water with my Lunas and cooled off!
As a side note, I turn 54 years old next week and started running 2 years ago when my older brother decided that a family reunion should be a 200 mile relay event from Cashe Valley to the Tetons. After doing extensive study (I have an MD and an MPH degree so I have to research everything I do) I found that running in Lunas that has a different footstrike that traditional running shoes protects my joints and spine. This is especially important since I have had surgery on my low back and neck. Contrary to what people think about running and back pain, I have found that running this way is making me stronger and completely pain free!

I'd like to try the elasticized laces. Do you sell them separately?

We no longer sell the elasticized laces for a variety of reasons, foremost of which is that the majority of people prefer the ATS laces.
